Gift To Nature

Gift to Nature is a scheme run by Island 2000 Trust, and shows how tourism and conservation can help each other. It gives visitors to the Isle of Wight the opportunity to give something back to the environment. We support a range of practical conservation projects across the Island.

Many Island businesses, from hotels and camping parks to attractions, are inviting their guests to make a voluntary donation to help enhance the Isle of Wight's unique environment - the very thing that most visitors come here to enjoy.

With the help of donations from thousands of visitors we have created a red squirrel hide, nature trail and wetland walk, built a habitat for rare wall lizards, restored a diverse wildlife meadow and helped visitors interact with the Island's amazing environment.

People’s Trust for Endangered Species

Since 1977, PTES has been helping to ensure a future for many endangered species throughout the world.

Today, people are becoming increasingly aware of the threat to wildlife and the alarming rate at which the numbers of many species are declining. We at the Trust are committed to working in an effort to preserve them in their natural habitats for future generations to enjoy.

We focus on specific problems as they arise and we write regularly to our supporters outlining each new project we undertake.

Everyone who contributes to a charity likes to know how their money has been spent. We produce two newsletters each year in which we give all the latest news of our projects, achievements and plans for the future

Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is the UK’s only specialist wetland conservation charity with a national network of wetland visitor centres. WWT is a world leader in the protection of ducks, geese, swans and flamingos and the wetlands they inhabit.

Wildlife Trusts

There are 47 local Wildlife Trusts across the whole of the UK, the Isle of Man & Alderney. We are working for an environment rich in wildlife for everyone.

With 670,000 members, we are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the full range of the UK's habitats and species. 108,000 of our members belong to our junior branch, Wildlife Watch.
